Every photoshoot has a different vibe, a different feeling, a different story. I capture the essence of your soul, your connection to your body, your story, the way it is. This means your photos will look and feel like you, unique to you. No one story is the same, so no one photo is the same.
I prefer not to interfere too much or stage moments that could lead to you feeling awkward. Instead, let events unfold naturally and capture real moments as they naturally unfold.
I find the feminine unfolds like a rose, so you can expect on the day that you may start off feeling more confined and reserved in your body and then gradually as we drop into the flow of it, more of your essence will start to shine through as you open. This is completely natural, there is no race to get to the point of full blossoming. Like anything it’s a journey and there is beauty in every part of your unfolding.
What you can do to prepare
Clothing & accessories
I would suggest bringing different outfits / changes of clothes. It can be as theatrical as you wish. I’m here to support you with whatever expression you wish to embody. I have a wide range of scarves and jewellery that can be used or brought with me on the day so feel free to ask.
Music
Ways of embodying the feminine are through breathe, sound and movement. I’ve found playing music throughout a photoshoot an effective way to connect and embody aspects of the feminine and help you drop into your body and your flow.
I bring with me a small device to play music and can access different playlists that depict a certain energy. Also if you have music that you are particularly moved by, I invite you to share your playlist or connect your phone to the device and play from your own Spotify account on the day.
Location
I feel its important to choose a location that you resonate with. This might be a garden, a forest, a particular beach, a rock, a cliff, a tree, a mountain or temple. I’m open to fitting in as many location options as we can manage, within the time allocated. So start tuning into the land or place you feel held in. If you’re unsure, I have some suggestions to offer and a growing list of special places I’ve come across in my travels.
Theme
What feminine archetypal energy would you like to be photographed in?
I find there is generally space to work with 1-4 different energies and themes in a shoot depending on how long you are booking in for.
Maiden / Erotic Mother / Priestess / Temptress / Wild Women / Crone / Queen
What polarity do you feel drawn too?
Dark or light or both?
Do you have a goddess archetype you would like to channel?
Oshun / Isis / Quan Yin / Magdalena / Aphrodite to name just a few...
Props
I encourage the use of props, they can be a great way to get your hands to focus on something. It could be a scarf, a mirror, a special type of flower, shells, seaweed, plants, a beautiful fan or a necklace. This is something we can chat further about. I have access to some props which you are welcome to use, or you may have your own you feel a deep connection with.
Remember we can play and experiment on the day - it doesn’t have to be all worked-out :)
